Description of Electric Dipole Excitations in the Tin Isotopes within the Quasiparticle Time Blocking Approximation
نویسنده
چکیده
The quasiparticle time blocking approximation (QTBA) is applied to describe E1 excitations in the even-even tin isotopes. Within the model pairing correlations, twoquasiparticle (2q), and 2q⊗phonon configurations are included. Thus the QTBA is an extension of the quasiparticle random phase approximation to include quasiparticlephonon coupling. Calculational formulas are presented in case of neutral excitations in the spherically symmetric system. The main equations are written in the coordinate representation that allows to take into account single-particle continuum completely. The E1 photoabsorption cross sections have been calculated in nuclei 116,120,124Sn. It has been obtained that the 2q⊗phonon configurations provide noticeable fragmentation of the giant dipole resonance resulting in appearance of significant spreading width. The results are compared with available experimental data. PACS numbers: 21.60.-n, 24.30.Cz, 25.20.Dc, 27.60.+j

Low-lying dipole response in the relativistic quasiparticle time blocking approximation and its influence on neutron capture cross sections
We have computed dipole strength distributions for nickel and tin isotopes within the Relativistic Quasiparticle Time Blocking approximation (RQTBA). These calculations provide a good description of data, including the neutron-rich tin isotopes 130,132Sn. The resulting dipole strengths have been implemented in HauserFeshbach calculations of astrophysical neutron capture rates relevant for r-pro...
متن کاملPygmy Dipol Resonances as a Manifestation of the Structure of the Neutron-Rich Nuclei
Dipole excitations in neutron-rich nuclei below the neutron threshold are investigated. The method is based on Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) and Quasiparticle-Phonon Model (QPM) theory. Of our special interest are the properties of the low-lying 1 Pygmy Resonance and the two-phonon quadrupole-octupole 1 states in Sn-isotopes including exploratory investigations for the experimentally unknown ma...

The properties of the low-energy dipole response are investigated for the proton-rich doubly magic nucleus 48 Ni, in a comparative study of two microscopic models: fully self-consistent Relativistic Random-Phase Approximation based on the novel density-dependent meson-exchange interactions, and self-consistent Continuum Random-Phase Approximation using Skyrme-type interactions with the continuu...

We first give a short review of the “local-current approximation” (LCA), derived from a general variation principle, which serves as a semiclassical description of strongly collective excitations in finite fermion systems starting from their quantum-mechanical meanfield ground state. We illustrate it for the example of coupled translational and compressional dipole excitations in metal clusters...
متن کاملNuclear Schiff moment in nuclei with soft octupole and quadrupole vibrations
Nuclear forces violating parity and time reversal invariance (P,T -odd) produce P,T -odd nuclear moments, for example, the nuclear Schiff moment. In turn, this moment can induce the electric dipole moment in the atom. The nuclear Schiff moment is predicted to be enhanced in nuclei with static quadrupole and octupole deformation. The analogous suggestion of the enhanced contribution to the Schif...
